WRESTLING CAMPS

Champions Wrestling School offers a well-structured summer wrestling camps at Queens University of Charlotte ( commuter and resident). In addition to our main summer camp location, we do offer camps in other locations/ or with partner clubs  throughout year.

We already proved ourselves as one of the best wrestling program by offering folkstyle, freestyle, greco and folkstyle wrestling throughout year in the Southeast U.S. The camp takes place at Queens University of Charlotte that offers great facility and recreation areas during camp, including meals, tennis court, basketball court, library, swimming pool and a lot more...

Experienced coaching staffs will be conducting the practices and and share their experience with the campers.  And we are so proud to be organizing it for wrestlers from local and surrounding areas.

We have created our summer camps that will take the best elements from a Team, Technique and Intensive training camp. And our camp will be great opportunity for teams and individuals to establish camaraderie, leadership and mental strength. Everyone knows that wrestling is an individual sport; however, the team element is an essential ingredient in any wrestler’s success.We recommend that teams come with their full roster in order to get the true meaning of this camp. 

The camp clinicians and counselors will teach the same cuttingedge techniques and philosophies that are currently being used in the world wrestling. Be prepared to wrestle duals and situational live wrestling daily! Early morning runs and sessionending conditioning will challenge your mental psyche and your emotional toughness. The camps will be demanding, however, it will provide wrestlers with the mental and physical tools needed to be champions in the upcoming season.

 July 15 – 19, 2010

Gold Medal Intensive Wrestling Camp (5 days, July 15 – 19)

(Technique and Training 60%, Live Wrestling 40%)

For all level of wrestlers! 

Schedules:

July 15

Check in: 12-1 pm.

Practice: 2-4 pm, 6-8 pm

July 16, 17, 18

Practice: 9-11 am, 2-4 pm, 6-8 pm

July 19,

9-11am, 2-4 pm (check-out 4:00-4:30 pm)

Intensive Camp:

This camp is for individuals of all age groups and levels of experience. Campers will be put into groups the first day from less experienced to most experienced and teaching sessions will be organized targeting each group's needs, instructed by experienced coaches including National Champions, NCAA All-Americans. While less experienced wrestlers will be taught the basics of the sport more advanced wrestlers will learn higher level techniques and proper drilling.

We cover stance, set-ups, takedowns, throws, trips, Russian Ties, defense and counter-offense. We stress high percentage scoring techniques that will improve every wrestler’s ability. All aspects of top wrestling will be covered including breakdowns, tilts, turns, legs and pinning. Although live wrestling will be limited to 40%, there will be a tournament at the end of the camp and Champions will be awarded. If you want to learn how to dominate your opponent from every position, then this camp is just for you!

Toddler/Preschooler Wrestling Camp July 15-19
For the first time, there will be toddler/preschooler camp, focusing on introducing wrestling to the kids, basic wrestling moves, educational games, gymnastic, and hands-on etc. Practice twice a day, $180 fee includes 5 day camps (morning and afternoon sessions only, 4-6 years old) lunch, free t-shirt. Camp is limited with 20 maximum and10 minimum numbers

Fee:

The camp includes instruction, room and board, and facility usage. Please note: No breakfast or lodging is provided for commuters.

Overnight Campers: $350 if registered by June 15, $370 after (must be ages 10 or older) 

Commuter: $250 if registered by June 15, $270 after. 

Toddler/Preschooler: $160 if registered by June 15,  $180 after

8-10 wrestlers - $10 off per person if in by June 25 ($50 deposit each)
10 or more wrestlers - $30 off each person if in by June 25 ($50 deposit each)
Family get $10 off for each kids

Accomidations: 

Queens Dining Hall features and all you can eat menu with variety of selections. Air conditioned dormitories with ‘two to a room’ provide comfort and privacy. Coaches will be living on dorm with campers; participants can expect nightly curfew and bad check. Possession or use of drug/alcohol will result in immediate dismissal.

On campus, Coffee Shop/Snack Bar and Game Room will provide recreation and snacks during the free time hours. Outdoor basketball court, tennis court, and indoor swimming pool are also available. So it provides great opportunity and convenience for our campers to get one of the best wrestling camp experience.

Who can attend? 

Participants: Any wrestlers, regardless of past experience, through rising high school seniors. Non-Participants: Middle and High School Coaches, and other interested individuals. Overnight Camper: Total fee of $350 if registered by June 15. Fee includes limited accident and liability insurance (Under AAU), all meals starting with dinner on the first day (breakfast, lunch and dinner). One Champions Wrestling School shirt. Day Camper: Total fee of $250 if registered by June 15. Fee includes limited accident and liability insurance under AAU, the noon and evening meals, a Champions Wrestling School shirt.

Non Participant (Overnight): Coaches and other individuals. Total fee of $200 Fee includes room and all meals. Single Room provided when available, but not guaranteed.

***An $50 Deposit is due with each application ( Non-refundable after July 10, 2010) Balance is due on or before July 1, 2010, is non-transferable, and is non-refundable after July 10, 2010.

What to Bring;

Overnight Participants;

Wrestling gears, some way to keep your room key on your person during camp. Normal change of clothing for three days; sheets (single) pillow and case, blanket, towels, sweat socks, t-shirt, and personal toiletries. Bring note pad and pencil. (Optional items: bathing suit, cell phone etc.)

Day participants: Wrestling gears, sweat socks, t-shirt, supporter and towel if desired. Bring note pad and pencil. Bring change for vending machine and game room.

Key Deposit;

As with any summer camp, lost keys are an issue. Queens University charges Champions Wrestling School for each key destroyed or lost; therefore a $70 key deposit is required at check in. A separate and distinct check should be brought to registration. Families with multiple attendees can put all key deposits on one check. All other payments should be separate. Please write your name and “Key Deposit” on the memo line. This will only be cashed if a key is lost.

Supervision and Rules;

Rules will be read, discussed and signed off on by the camper. Violation of the rules could be grounds for immediate dismissal.There is a zero-tolerance attitude toward alcohol, drugs, fireworks, hazing or violence. Participants will be supervised during all organized times and in the dormitory. Campers will be required to attend all assigned activities and instruction sessions. Those enrolled in the camp must comply with all rules and regulations governing conduct of the students on campus. Any violations or abuse of these rules will cause immediate dismissal from the camp without a refund. We will use every precaution to prevent accidents. We do not, however, assume any responsibility for medical, dental, or other expenses incurred as a result of accidents. A parent or guardian must sign the application before an athlete will be accepted into the camp. Minimum age for all campers is second grade.

Refunds

There will be no refund of deposit once it is received by Champions Wrestling School. There is also no refund for the remaining balance once the camp begins – injuries included.

   2 Days Freestyle & Greco Wrestling Camp,  May 1-2'nd

Location: Matthews Location, 2246-C Stevens Mill Road Matthews, NC 28104

This camp is designed to provide opportunity for wrestlers to accelerate their freestyle and greco techniques. We will be emphasizing serious of leg laces, the gut wrench, crotch/body lifting, front head positions, throws and much more that are highly used in freestyle and greco wrestling. In addition, As an long time freestyle wrestler I will be teaching how to do throws that deliver you minimum 3 points. It is a great opportunity for upcoming freestyle and greco wrestling tournaments / championships. 

So wrestlers who are planing to go to wrestle at NC, SC and other freestyle and greco championship, DO NOT miss this opportunity!!!
